This was all we had in the kitchen, so breakfast for dinner it is: from bottom to top - an English muffin, a slice of chorizo, scrambled eggs, organic salad greens and a slice of prosciutto to crown this little bite.

This morning's breakfast update is brought to you by free high-speed wifi at Brooklyn Kolache Co.. We had the chorizo breakfast taco ($2.50) -- so meh. The kolaches are what you should come for -- pillowy sweet Czech dough with generous fillings. We picked the salted beef sausage ($3.75) which came with a tangy mustard, and the PB&J kolache ($3.75) which held a great nugget of peanut butter and a thick squirt of jelly. Love that this is a quirky, artists-friendly space too.
Good morning Brooklyn! Those are some fine breads to sit on the sidewalk for, SCRATCHbread. The kale Caesar salad with a perfectly poached egg and giant croutons (US$4) is crunchy, deep with flavour. Nonna's breakfast sandwich ($7) is a messy one, with slow-roasted pork flavoured with salted cod. A puzzling combination, but they pulled it off.
